The Neighbour Sega Master System

Recently i have been collecting some games to my SMS collection. I could say that the SMS its one of the best Sega consoles, but lets get real, there is any bad Sega console? Hmm, i know your are thinking about the SEGA CD, and probably are calling me crazy, but really who didnt you have a little bit of fun with some of the awesome Sega CD games? It was a mark in the videogames history. It was the start of a new generation.

Well back to the SMS, was one of the first sega home console worldwide, and my first experience in the game consoles.

Like any kid, i got really hooked, but for my sadness the console was from my next door neighbour. I remember playing a lot of Shinobi and Desert Striker. Very nice and addicted games, i got glued to the controllers, but at the end of the day i always got kicked out of his house.

During that time i never got my own SMS, i have to get my addiction from my DOS games, using a ton of floppy disks to play a game… Later on i got a Genesis/MD and a Saturn, both awesome systems!

In the last years that i have been collecting more activily, i start searching for some gems for the SMS, and this week i got, really cheap, two great games for the system. Both classics: Streets of Rage and Gaunlet!

Soon i hope finding more gems for the SMS, its such a great system with a lot of great games.

Sometimes people seems to forget the SMS, and focus on the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive and Saturn. I guess for a collector thats goods, cheaper games haha. Compared to the Genesis and Saturn, some games get crazy prices, like the Panzer Dragoon Saga.

Final Fantasy Main Series Complete! (kind of)

Hello!!

This is a happy day! Finally arrive the Final Fantasy I (famicom) to complete my collection of Final Fantasy main series (except online games XI and XIV). Its one of my favorite franchises of all time.

The first time i played Final Fantasy, was Final Fantasy VIII. Was probably my first JRPG too. I was instantly hooked, it was something completely different from everything i played. I was kid, so i was used to platform games, beat up’s, driving. When my brother offer me Final Fantasy VIII, i played for months! Never a game did that. Its a very special game. Besides its a collector edition! Very rare to find nowadays.

After FFVIII, i was eager to play and collect all the other games for the Playstation, since was the system i owned at the time. When i got older i started to search for the other Final Fantasy games in Super Famicom and Famicom.

The other games based on Final Fantasy universe i was never a big fan, so never bought any. Now that i finish the main series, i will probably start looking into that and also other versions, like Japanese versions.

Also looking forward for the Final Fantasy XV! 🙂

My recently purchase its a special edition exclusive in japan. The Final Fantasy I wonderswan edition. That includes the game Final Fantasy I and the system Wonderswan! When i got it in my hands i totally write something about it 🙂

Some Final Fantasy Funny Facts:

  • Originally Final Fantasy was going to be called Fighting Fantasy
  • Final Fantasy I was made with a team of just 7 people
  • The Final Fantasy series’ most iconic melody was written in five minutes (Prelude).
  • In the GBA, PS, PSP and iPhone/iPad versions of Final Fantasy, a gravestone in Elfheim reads, “Here Lies Link,” a reference to Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda

Nerdy James has born!

Hello nerds!

This is my first post in my personal gaming blog! For some years i have been thinking in start something related to my passion to video games. I collect retro, modern games and consoles, of course i also play a lot.

Have been inspired for some youtubers and bloggers, for example MetalJesusRocks (Youtuber) and BlondeNerd (Blogger). I’m always watching and reading a lot related to this awesome hobbie. I’m always learning about new games that i didn’t even know that exist, some hidden gems and crazy special editions.

In this blog i will talk about the games that mark me as i was growing up, the feelings and had impact in my life. I play mostly RPG, and some of them was like living a second life. I was really absorbed in the games.

I will also monthly do a “Recent Pick ups”, where i show the games that i bought in the last month. I will show some stuff from my collection too, that i find really special. I’m a big Final Fantasy fan and collector, so i will show time to time something related to the series.

In the future i’m also thinking doing some videos, but for now i will just stick with writing!

Hope see you around, also sharing some games and experiences!
